Only 15 km from Vannes and five minutes from the mainland, you will reach a charmful island, a miniature world with diverse landscapes and friendly inhabitants.

For Nature lovers, the Gulf of Morbihan - listed since 1997 as one of the "Most Beautiful Bays of the World"- is an environmental paradise, listed by Natura 2000 for the richness of its bird fauna.

According to a legend, there are more islands in the Gulf of Morbihan than there are days in one year. The Ile aux Moines is considered to be one of the nicest, nicknamed the "pearl of the Gulf" and the widest, with a length of 7 km and a width of 3.5 km, but there, nowhere lies further than 450 meters from water !!

One can easily walk around the island within one day. Three beautiful walks are recommended, signposted from town :
- The track of Trec'h (1.8km) : the church Saint Michel, as well as the headland of Trec'h, which display a marvelous view on the headland of Arradon and the island of Arz.
- The track of Brouel (2.5 km) : you will discover a chapel, a fountain, and from the headland of Brouel, a panorama on the island of Arz.
- The track of Penhap (4.4 km) : you will catch sight of megaliths, amazing viewpoints on the Gulf of Morbihan, thatched cottages, groves, and from the headland of Nioul, a panorama on the Presque-isle of Rhuys. Beware: access to the headland of Nioul is hazardous !
